Shout-out: Tom Brooks from NJ. He’s headed down to Orlando soon, and if you are hiring his resume looks solid. This is the most shameless plug we’ve ever done….and we feel dirty.

News:
1. Redwolf has the Airsoft Systems Smart Control Unit, it looks to be a drop in version of the Systema PTW unit for normal AEGs
2. Rubber Airsoft Sniper Rounds (like BB gun pellets) Ouch!
3. Madbull has some new “target” bbs coming out soon, made of glass and Aluminum.
4. Another new cqb site again from first and only, this time it is a show factory.
5. Battle Tac, the GPS tracking software for airsoft games is out for iPhone and Android6. CYMA thompsons are back in the US…WOOHOO!!!
Thanks to Cody S., Austin W. Alex K, and the rest of the RAR team!
Vocab:
Austin returns with another great vocab lesson this week: The Robert Furlong (For those not familiar with the name, Rob Furlong is known for the longest kill shot in history.)
We ALL know one of these. They don’t have a specific weapon, despite what their title suggests. However they love to shoot whatever they have, and think they are an amazing marksman. Thus, these people love to call you out from 150+ YARDS while they are using something that wouldn’t even shoot that far. These people tend to have a short fuse, and are also vulgar, especially when calling you out. Some think they know everything there is to know about airsoft, but are a clearsofter upstairs. Don’t usually run with high grade AEGs.
PIC of the SHOW
From our RAR- Alex!!!!

Tech Tip
None formally this week, but if you pay close attention we give you a secret on how to prolong the life of your trigger switch. There will be a quiz later, it’s is full of essay questions.
Listener Questions:
1. I just finished listening to Show 35, and you guys were talking about
the “mini” modified Dragunov with the full suppressor barrel but
couldn’t remember the name. That’s the VSS Vintorez. – Dalton P.
2.Why do high end performance AEG manufacturers like KWA not include Mosfet systems in their guns? – Thomas B.

Review
We take a close look at the new lower facemask offering from Bitter End… You may know them from their amazing mesh goggles that are used worldwide, and I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of them in the years to come. In fact, Steve liked the mask so much; he wore it for the better part of the show.
Listener Segment
1. Andrew H writes: Hey, I know you all play MW2, so i was wondering if you saw this: when you play the last mission, Endgame, if you look at Soap’s magazines are actually airsoft? they have the little bb feeder hole, not real bullets! Sorta sad on IW’s part, don’t you think?
2. Alex Kong (RAR) writes…have you seen the news floating around about multicam being approved for use in Afghanistan?
3. Matt from VA writes: Hey i have heard that KWA is going to release a AK47 some time soon so i was wondering if this was true or just some fanboy’s dream?

Review
URBAN ASSAULT (MILSIM) SITE REVIEW 23rd January 2010
It’s a cold day outside with a temperature of perhaps 4 degrees (celcius). Does that bother the players? HELL NO! This is Urban Assault.
I’ve heard about the site many times through the grape vine and everyone raves about it. Because of this i’ve been a bit sceptical and kept my distance. Now (not possibly being able to play airsoft as much as i’d like soon) i decided to give it a go. Boy am i glad i did! The site itself is HUGE and you can easily find yourself going from building to building and wondering where you are at first. Some of the buildings on site are 2 floors with stairs, fire escapes and multiple corridors and windows. This makes for interesting gameplay as you never know if there’s an enemy through the door, up the stairs or outside a window and getting ready to get you!
As this was a MILSIM day there were ammo restrictions being NO HI CAP MAGAZINES. If you were caught with one, you would be asked to leave the site. That said you were allowed to carry as many mid-cap or lo-cap (and pistol) magazines as you wanted. The beginning of the day began with setting up team colours and being given our objectives for the morning and told about extra rules for the game day. These were written down on the opposite side of a map which was given to ALL of the players (which was a very nice touch i must say). On staircases you could only shoot on semi-auto (to minimise overkill) and there had to be 3 medics on the entire side. The medics would obviously hand out a bandage [...]</itunes:summary>

News:
1. The “PimpMyGun” site has a new version out , and it has ton of new models and options. We still find ourselves spending hours at a time there building our next AEG or just wasting time… Thanks a bunch Dr. Noob!
2. EBairsoft.com has something every Modern Warfare 2 fan would want on the field, a Task force 141 fleece jacket; just like SOAP and Roach wear on the winter missions. No news on price or availability just yet, as it’s still coming soon.
3. The WE H&K 416 is finally available for order at redwolfairsoft.com. And it sold out as fast as it went up…here’s the link so you can see what you missed out on.
4. SRC has their 2010 catalog out now and a few things caught our eye. They have GBB Mp5s, AKs and G36s on the way, have upgraded their mechboxes (Gen 3) and (If we’re reading it right) have a V2 compatible CO2 M4 series. Check it out here, but be warned it’s a HUGE download.
5. The Socom Gear version 2 Barrett is the next generation of their affordable M82 replica, and is available for preorder at Redwolf. It looks like there are many improvements over the first version, but a bigger price comes along with it as well. But, you get a signed letter from Mr. Barrett himself!
6. Classic Army is finally back at making their M24’s. But, they are now the “enhanced version” which are shooting much harder out of the box (440-460 FPS)! Looks like AirsoftGI has them ready to order now.

As always, a BIG thanks to our Roving Airsoft Reporters this week:
- Alex Kong (aka the Canadian RAR), Ryan Limpus, and Eric Fine
Review
If you are looking for a new AEG to add to your arsenal, you should keep the KWA KM16 SR-12 on the lop of your list. Jonathan and Steve take a look at this high-end AEG that sports LiPo ready internals, a machined 12” rail system and 420+ fps out-of-the-box performance. Listen in and see why they both agree that this DMR is definitely worth the $395 price tag.

Airsoft Vocabulary
This show’s word is: Clearsofter.
Basically it’s anyone that rolls out to the local field or backyard with nothing more than a clear airsoft gun from the local discount chain store…but it could also double for anyone that shoots the cheaper clear colored bbs if you want to stretch the meaning.
While it can be mistaken as a broad derogatory label for a new player, it’s more of a general classification of a player in the early life-cycle of airsoft…and trust us, we’ve been sent packing back to respawn by our share of clearsofters.
Listener Segment
1. Robert Irwin (RAR) writes in: Since it’s year end, I wanted to share my top 3 from 2009: My number one was the groundzero weekender ‘09. My second would be the release and purchase of the AGM sten gun. Lastly since I started in December 08 this has been my first full year of airsoft so that is also brilliant.
2. Listener Andrew sent us a great music video for anyone who likes guns, and you have got to watch it all the way through to the end for the really heavy artillery. The artist’s site can be found here.
3. RAR Alex writes: Hey guys I was listening to you guys talk about the blow back on the G36k (Tokyo Marui) and how it can’t be [...]</itunes:summary>

5. TAD Gear got hacked…This explains why I had my # card stolen in September (no lie, I had to get over $200 is charges reversed) The bottom line is that if you purchased anything from them from August 6th, 2009 thru Nov 9th, 2009, you better call your card company and get your number changed. Big thanks to Andrew W. for pointing this out to us.
6. G&G released their 2010 catalog (Thanks Ben for the heads up), and highlights include FNC, F2000, a few new L85s, and EBR and a LR300.
7. Ben’s been busy and also pointed us to a new camo pattern due for release in January 2010; called A-TACS. Check it out here.
Review:
Listener Ryan L. sent us a great review of the A&K M60 Mk43 AEG. Bottom line, if you are looking for a unique support weapon that will help you stand out from the sea of SAWs this is the gun for you. Plus at around $300 US, it’s priced right.

1. Xandman99 sent in his recollections from Op: Irene 7, good times!
2. Wulfie sent us his own “frankengun” pictures, complete with a masterkey setup….Uh….wow…yeah…. Check it out over on our Facebook page
3. Friend George from The Score, sent us a great link to the Onion’s coverage of the leaked Modern Warfare 3 trailer. Now this is REALISTIC MilSim!
Airsoft Advice:
Mike from Ft. Benning GA. writes in asking about cold weather and airsoft, and what we as players need to do to prepare ourselves and our AEGs for the cold weather. Steve and Jonathan answer the call for help with some unique advice.

News
News: Brought to you this week by the “Roving Airsoft Reporter” Conner B!!!!!
- Airsoft GI is at it again with their custom gun line. This time they have found a way to take some thing that already awesome and make it even better. The New KWA SR10 + Daniel Defense rail system = Awesomeness! If you’re in the market for a custom KWA M4, this one is the one to get.
- Modify just announced their new Torus 8mm gearbox shell. As you know, they previously had a 7mm shell but since the bushing-size ‘arms race” is on, they decided to step it up a notch…er..millimeter.
- Redwolf just came out with a great review of the new KJW GBB M4. Yeah yeah, we know what you are thinking “Not ANOTHER GBB M4!!!!” But considering Tanio Koba designed the rifle, this one has our attention.
- While we’re on the subject of gas M4s; Bomber Custom has made a limited edition M733 GBB. We think this was the news story Steve was trying to talk about in show 18 when Chris and Jonathan mercilessly pounced as he stumbled.
- Last but not least, because of the rumors that have been spreading lately, Madbull sent their BBs in to be tested for cobalt. Their results turned out negative…not that they were worried.
- KWA (which seems to be the theme of this show, and that’s a good thing) is dealing with counterfeit guns entering the market, specifically models no longer sold in the US (ie: Glock Pistols). They are packaged like KWA (but in old designed packaging), look like KWA but are not KWA. Sadly KWAUSA is seeing customers that purchased these guns come to them for warranty support and are being turned away. So, if you are shopping for a Glock pistol, and you find a “new” KWA…it’s a good chance it’s fake.
Review
Conner B. pointed us to karMeister’s review of the new KWA G2x mechbox over at the KWA forums. This is what we like to see from an airsoft company, they recognize issues, take constructive feedback from their customers and react quickly. It’s not a hard business concept to understand, it’s just difficult to master…and it seems KWA USA is doing their share of mastering!
Tech Tip /Frankengun Giveaway!!!!
The day has finally arrived! The awesome Echo1 Frankengun is going to a new home!!!
We’re kinda sad to see it go. It is an amazing airsoft rifle but alas…it belongs to you guys!!! Since this was our first contest, we wanted to make sure that the loyal listeners had a fair shot at the giveaway, so we kept it a bit under wraps.
No major advertising, no huge press release! And now we picked a winner at random from our Facebook Fans!!!! We’ve reached out to the winner, and they had 48 hours to respond. after the 2nd try, we have a winner! Check out our Facebook page for more info.
We intentionally didn’t advertise the contest on any major news site or forum to make sure that you guys and gals (the loyal listeners) had a fair shot at the gun! See, we really care about ya…

We’re back for a very rainy show #15 and Tim forgot about us. Yep, we’ve been recording the same day every 2 weeks since January and he dropped the ball this time. Our guess is too many shots to the head (or teeth) during the past skirmish, but we digress. Friend of the show Sam (AKA Optomis) from airsoft-barracks.com joins us in the 3rd seat to tell us about the trials of being an admin on an airsoft forum, and to give us the review of the show. Along with Sam, Steve and Jonathan hold down the fort and bring you another epic Airsoftology show.
We know we keep saying we want to hear from you, and you are sending us some good stuff! But…it’s time we raised the stakes a bit. We’re starting to collect swag from retailers, distributors and manufacturers alike and they are piling up. Oh yeah, we have our own Airsoftology logo patches on the way as well, too!
I guess what we are saying is that we want to reward your contribution to the show. Send us a good voicemail, make a show segment, or write that awesome email that tells everyone the ultimate airsoft secret and we’ll send you something in return.
We are really looking for callers and segment producers, so if you want the free stuff you have to step up! Not that we don’t appreciate your emails, cause we do! It’s just that we want to make the show more about you; the listener. Who knows what you’ll get, but I can promise this: The better the contribution the better the reward. Just make sure to include your address when you contribute, put it at the end of the segment/email/voicemail and we’ll edit it out before it goes live.
Informative with a touch of humor; we break down the news, reviews and tech tips that you want to hear.

Show Notes:
News
- STEN Gun news…Steve has done his homework from the listener question last week and he now has not 1 but 2 Sten guns for us. The original from Viva http://www.vivaarms.com/ and the new one from AGM
- Got $7000.00 US burning a hole in your pocket??? Then you need to buy the most uber airsoft gun on the planet: The Super Fish! Here’s the thread on Airsoft Retreat and if you just have to have it, you can get it at Nashville Airsoft.
- NLairsoft.com got the scoop on a new gun manufacturer entering into the market, Ace Of Spades. (English translation option is at the top right of the page) These come from the same parent company of the much beloved Biovals, so you better believe that we’re eagerly awaiting the first reviews.
- For all of you out there dreaming of a pirate loadout (come on, we know you are out there somewhere) KTW has a new Flintlock pistol due on the market in September 2009. Boasting a 12 round magazine but a sub-impressive 0.4J muzzle velocity. Not impressive in terms of power, but who cares! Now you have an excuse to roll your “R’s” and yell “Avast Ye!” at the next game.

Review
Optomis, the uber-admin from the airsoft-barracks.com forums, joins us in studio to give us his very detailed review. He brings us the good, the bad, and the ugly on the G&P WOC GBB M4… After you listen, go check out the full review over at Airsoft Barracks.

Tech Tip
We talk about lowering resistance in airsoft guns this show, and we pick 2 easy ways to make this happen; Fuse removal and the addition of Deans connectors on your battery. To read more about fuse removal, Redwolf Airsoft has a great writeup here about fuses and here’s another one too. If you are looking for Deans you can find them here as well, these are a must have for any lower resistance setup.

Listener Segment
- Listener Stevie sent us a link over to probably the best airsoft related time-killer out there today: Pimp My Gun It’s basically an ap that lest you build your own gun online using every part from any gun in the library. You can even take a picture of your completed work to post on your favorite forum. Send us your shots, or [...]</itunes:summary>

News
-NLAirsoft.com, the European airsoft source, has undergone an extreme makeover! Friend of the show Slickaxe has been working hard on the new design and we give it our seal of approval. Head over there and see what he’s done.
- Listener Michael Tsay reported that Mauri has a new Taiwan website up…interesting indeed. Check it out and form your own opinions: www.marui-taiwan.com.tw
- More Marui news: They have quite a few new models on the horizon. Coming soon are the GBB version of the FN Five Seven pistol, a L96 sniper rifle, 2 new blowback AKs, and a new line of brightly colored AEGs designed for younger players.
- The Gas Blowback revolution continues with WE releasing 2 new models; A SCAR replica and a KA PDW.
- Madbull has a new tracer adapter coming, and this ain’t your daddy’s tracer. I could describe how cool it is, but the youtube videos do a much better job.
- Echo1 has 2 new models fresh out in your local shops. A very nice full metal electric blowback MP5 and a wood and metal AK.
-The Airsoft Infidels book is available for order, think of it as a pinup book for airsoft aficionados.
Reviews
-Chris brings us a great review of the Airsoft Elite M4 Magazine w/ Winder and it gets out very first 10/10 rating! If your local site allows Hi Cap magazines, this is the review you need to hear.
Tech Tip of the Week
We answer a listener question for a quick and easy way to increase rate of fire. We had to dial Chris back a bit to keep this one easy for the masses, but it’s a great solution for those non-techies out there.
Listener Segment
We answer your questions on the show, and like always we have some good ones.
- We have our very first live caller for the show, Cameron from New Zealand. He wanted to know about our airsoft roots.
- We answer Listener Julian “Blackcat” Hayes’ question about a good 5.56mm suppressor choice for a M4 and G36.
- Ian Garcia wanted to know why his UTG L96 rifle is shooting erradically, Chris gives him some good pointers.
- Listener Micah Dewey with Hazard Strike Force in Thompson’s Station, TN wanted to get our opinion on teh new AGM M4 GBB and if we’d see clones from Echo1 anytime soon.
- Kipp from Santa Rosa, CA writes in asking if we’d aim our reviews at products more available to the “poorsofter” crowd. No promises, but we’ll give it a try
- We take a few calls from the airsoftology voicemail line. We talk about callsigns, a Marui PSG-1 upgrade and more.

- USASOC magazine has their newest issue up and the sad news is that their Editor/Founder Nick Pertus is retiring. Go check out this great (free) e-zine here.
- In Bioval news; they have a new BB on the horizon, the BBB T-Rex and it’s a top tier .43 sniper round. So if you are part of the ghillie suit/single-shot crowd, keep your eyes peeled for their release.
- The UK has a new field opening soon, and it’s an abandoned shopping mall. Dawn of the Dead games anyone? Man, you guys across the pond get to have all the fun!
- Forged clothing has a new line of T-shirts for women to complement their mens line. Run by an ex Navy Seal and mixed martial arts aficionado, these are duds that make a statement. Check out what they have quick before they sell out.
Humor
- Chris mentions the infamous camo effectiveness picture, so we had to link it here for you all to see.
