Show Notes

News:

1.  The 2nd version of the Airsoft Infidels book is out, and they are turning geardos into heroes a second time round The book is available via www.airsoftinfidels.com and via www.Blurb.com right now!

2.  Airsoft has invaded the fine country of Panama!!!  Frank Malca from Airsoft Panama, invites you to check them out at Association Airsoft Panama at facebook for pictures and videos http://airsoft-panama.com

3. TOP has released the first ever shell ejecting electric airsoft gun! This is a full metal M4, electric blowback that actual kicks shells out as it fires. The bolt movement, loading, firing and function is exact to the real thing....sounds like a cool wall-hanger, but we are a bit skeptical in the skirmish-ability.

4. Customize your 1911 style airsoft pistol with Madbull’s new Torx Screw

5. RA-Tech's review of the new GHK AKM GBB...It's gas-tastic

Reviews

his show we have not one, but two reviews; Jonathan tackles the KWA KMP9R and Steve covers the Airsoft Innovations Tornado impact grenade"

KWA KMP9R - GBB  (Jonathan)

$215 retail

350fps (average with .20 gram BBs)

Runs Green Gas or propane

48 Round Magazine

18 RPS during our tests

Highlights: Trigger safety, ambi fire selector, easy takedown, comes in 6 "flavors",  Mags $43 US each and they fit in MP5 pouches. You get gun, sticker, oil mag and all the docs, including a warranty card.

Pros:

Nice polymer used in the externals

Colors are tacti-sexxxy:  Ranger Gray/Green, Coyote and Black

Nice weight and balance, solid but not unwieldy.

Absence of front grip allows it to fit in holsters with stock removed

ROF falls nicely between the MAC11 and the MP7

Tons of rail space

Cons:

No mock suppressor (yet..We're looking at your PolarStar and VFC)

Stock a bit on the flimsy feeling side.

No shorter magazines available so as a pistol it's still a bit large.

Top rail is polymer, not sure how that will hold up in the long run.

Bottom line:

A nice modern looking backup for those that think the MP7 is too large and the MAC11 is too small, a nice balanced CQB SMG for shorter or midcap games.  Color choices go well for the snipers out there trying to blend, and the rail space is ample to add just about every accessory known to man.

This makes it: "A BUY"

Tornado Impact Grenade (Steve)

You just have to listen in to hear the detailed input on this one..but if you must know we both agree it's "a buy."

Listener Segment

Asking us for help is like throwing darts in the dark and expecting to hit bullseye, but hey..we'll give it a shot:

1. Listener Darwin Li Writes - Q: What greases or lubricant do you guys use for the internals of your guns?I personally like to use AGS brand White Lithium Grease and Airsplat brand silicon oil. Do you guys also buy o-rings from hardware stores for better airseal?

A: We actually use the same white lithium grease for my gun. It's cheap, easy to find and works well. For the silicone, I'll pick up any airsoft brand I can find on the cheap, but the Airsplat one works well. You're definitely on the right track!

2. Mr. Goodwill writes: I waswondering if I should get MOLLE Gear vs a chest rig.

I'd like pros and cons please.

A: Well, We have both, and they work in different situations. Here's our thoughts:

Chest rig pros:
1. Lightweight
2. Cool in the summer
3. Inexpensive
4. Most include pouches
5. And, you can still get it in MOLLE (Condor has a great rig for cheap)

Chest Rig Cons:
1. Not much "real estate" for pouches
2. The non-MOLLE is not changable (pouches are stuck where they are)
3. Not much protection from BB hits.

MOLLE Vest Pros:
1. Tons of space for pouches
2. Great protection from BBs
3. Can adjust the pouches for different loads and guns

MOLLE Vest Cons:
1. Hot is the summer
2. More expensive
3. Have to buy all of the pouches to fill it out
4. Could be heavy

Well,I hope that helps. Personally we have both a vest and a chest rig depending on the day, but if you are looking at just one, find the one that fits your play style.

PS:  Sorry for the name slaughter Darwin! We feel bad about it, really!

Next Week:

The Airsoft Innovations GASCAN is in the lab now for testing, as well as the new Lonex fastmags....It's going to be another good show.
